I’m entering the Dusty Attic Challenge this month with this LO. I’ve used a lovely Long Stem Flower DA chip that’s been watercolored. From the mood board I used the splashes as well as the pinks and purples. The title is from a Bruno Mars song because this LO is of my niece, Lenora, who likes him a LOT. I also made this LO of her because she’s no longer the little girl in the photo. She’s now a grown and hopeful college girl and I admire her so much for how beautiful she is inside and out. She’s a strong woman with her feet firmly planted on the ground and a vibrant and humble soul who has overcome so much to earn everything she has. She takes nothing for granted and her faith and perseverance are the reason I look up to her.

going up? - W & P February
Here’s
a LO of my son Emilio as a younger boy at the ruins of Teotihuacán outside of Mexico City. I’m entering the “Embrace the
Past” Challenge at Words & Paintery with this. My son was mystified and
excited to visit this part of his heritage (from way, way back). Climbing the pyramids
was one of the most exciting parts of the visit to this magical place.

I’ve
used the inspiration word “Celebrate” for the Testimony with my journaling
below the photo: Thankful for being able to watch you enjoy and celebrate the
magic of the season.
For
the Evidence I’ve stamped light gray snowflakes, stenciled some stars with
texture paste and made the title with glitter alphas.
All
of the colors were used for the Scheme.

13@rts - Lean on Me
The challenge for October at 13@rts
is Color My World. I’m showcasing
this black and white photo of my boys with the beautiful theme song Lean on Me by Bill
Withers.
My white background has a layer of gesso and
then it’s watercolored, splashed, and stenciled with Ayeeda mists in pastels (turquoise,
yellow, and salmon) and then stamped with text. The chip music and feather were also gessoed in white and
then painted with the same colors (the feather was also stamped with text). The
resist chip hearts were also white as well as the cheesecloth and fabric
alphas. The die cut leaf is from white cardstock that was dabbed with the
yellow mist and then stamped. The pretty Ayeeda flowers were also white. The photo
is matted on white paper that was stamped with text and then distressed and
inked with the yellow mist. I used the same yellow mist to color some texture
paste that was brushed on the background and then mixed with Ayeeda 3D powder
for some texture through a star stencil.
...and a close-up...
Rules of the challenge # 23:
1. Use a white background for your project. It can be cardstock, watercolor paper or patterned paper. You can have motifs and designs that are coloured but the base must be white and the white should still be visible after all your alterations.
2. Use a black and white photo. For cards or art journals, your sentiments/journaling should also be in either black or white.
3. The colours on your project should come from paints or mists, or any other colorants (distress inks, water colors etc). This applies to embellishments as well ie. if you use flowers or letters, they should be white or cream and you color them with your paints or mists. There's no restriction on what colours you want to use - you can have rainbows or you can have all black and white.
4. A song (title or words are ok, in your language of choice) as your theme/title.
5. Publish your project on your blog and add link directly to the post using Inlinkz tool at the end of this post.
6. Please add link and info about our challenge, where your work is published.
7. You may submit as many entries as you like.
8. You can enter with your project to maximum 2 other challenges and your work must be new, not published before our challenge has started.
9. The challenge ends on October the 26th at 23:55. Winners will be announced on October the 30th, 2014.
Thanks for stopping by. Here’s the song… Enjoy!

Scrap Around the World - August
Here’s
my entry for the August Scrap Around the World mood board.
I
was inspired by the fashion theme, which is sometimes interesting when boys
take an interest.

CSI #133 - Life is Sweet
I’m
back, baby!
Very glad to have found this
lovely case for the week at CSI.
LIFE IS SWEET
TESTIMONY – inspiration words: delight and simple
This photo is special to me. As my journaling states, we were on a road trip in Norway, where we made an unplanned stop. There was a little park, and the simplicity of something so common together with my kids gave meaning to what little time we got to play. It was completely unexpected, but I will treasure that moment forever.
EVIDENCE
There is a tree stamped next to my journaling, and I have used a vertical strip of polka dot paper along with splashes of hot pink watercolor and circles of white acrylic paint.
All five colors have been used.
And the lovely Case File...
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Skipping Stones - 13arts Challenge #16
This month’s
challenge at 13@rts is to create your own background.
FUN!!!
I prepped some
white cardstock with gesso and started off with some black and brown stamping
with some words and patterns.
For texture I have
stenciled some modeling paste as well as glued some die cut stones at the
bottom. There is also a piece of dyed cheesecloth.
I sprayed and
dripped some mists and inks and water and then more dripping and inking and misting…
Of course, some more
dabbing and dripping and spraying with white paint and gesso J
...and a close-up...
And that is just a bit of the mixed media that I’ve been hoarding…
Thanks for stopping by ;)

Scrap Around the World - January Mood Board
This is the beautiful mood board at Scrap Around the World for
January.
I was inspired by the lighthouse image and its pretty blue sky and
the sand.
Here’s my entry…
I've stenciled some painted modeling paste as well as some glass beads for the sand effect.
This was a trip to a lighthouse near my husband’s hometown in Norway. This lighthouse now serves as a cultural center, and the beautiful 30-minute hike is totally worth it.
Here are some close-ups...

Kraft it Up - January 2014
Here’s my entry for January at Kraft it Up. There is a sketch that
also requires a Summer theme photo, a number, and washi or similar.
We enjoyed a poolside game of Uno one summer, and we used these cool cards that are made of plastic. Totally Waterproof :) They're actually called Uno H2O.

Let's shake it - CSI 91
I
have solved Case File No. 91 at CSI for this week.
The
five pretty colors of the Scheme have been used.
A
couple of clues for the Evidence are the wet medium in coral and black (color
mist has been sprayed and splashed along with splashes of black ink), and rings
of off-white are marked with acrylic paint and a spray bottle cap. They kind of
look like rings left from the glass of the milk shakes J Also, one of
the journaling spots is inside a speech bubble.
Inspiration
word “enjoy” has been used for journaling the Testimony : “Nov. ’04 –
sharing a shake with you is a delicious way to spend this afternoon”
…and
a couple of close-ups…
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
